IFFO’s China Summit 2026, held in Shanghai on 10–11 June, gathered a record 221 delegates from 27 countries, reaffirming China’s central role in global aquaculture and marine ingredient markets.
China continues to play a central role in the global aquaculture sector. According to OECD-FAO estimates, China is expected to account for 42% of global fishmeal consumption by 2034.
The ten speakers addressed global and regional market trends, demand for omega-3s, certification requirements and fishery improvement projects, Asia’s growing reliance on by-products, and the impact of environmental factors on supply.
