Every year IFFO hosts the world's only conference dedicated to the fishmeal and fish oil industry and its value chain partners. Hosted at a different city of the world each year, the annual conference attracts well over 400 delegates plus companions, drawn from over 40 different countries.
The conference location rotates between three world zones: the Americas; Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA); and Asia and Australasia. The first annual conference of the IFFO organisation was held in Paris in 1960, and since then we have been in five different continents (see list of conference locations).
Currently the annual conference has a three-day format, from Monday to Wednesday, and is usually held in October or November. A typical programme includes a balance of conference sessions, social functions and time for networking. Please note that Market Forum 1 is only open to delegates who are Producer Members or Premium Non-Producer Members of IFFO. The meetings are held in English with interpretation to Spanish and Chinese.
The IFFO annual conference is the only one of its kind and a 'must' for the world's producers of fishmeal and fish oil, together with their customers and industrial partners. In addition to producers (owners as well as managers), those attending include traders and shippers, agricultural and aquaculture feed producers, oil refiners, analytical laboratories and consultants, nutritional supplement suppliers, banks and insurers, among others. As well as having a top-level professional program, the IFFO conference is an ideal opportunity for business and networking - if you are involved in the fishmeal, feed, or fish oil business, or in their associated supply chains, this is the event for you.
