Enrico Bachis began his career in the feed industry in 2009 as Information Officer at IFFO. In 2017, he moved into the role of Market Research Director, where he coordinates market intelligence activities and analysis. With more than 15 years of experience as a feed ingredients analyst, Enrico has contributed to the development of IFFO’s market research and data work within the fishmeal and fish oil sector. His role has included collaboration with the UN FAO Fisheries Department, including contributions to the State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture (SOFIA) report. He also regularly participates in the OECD-FAO agri-commodities working group as a representative of the fishing industry. Enrico holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Cagliari (Sardinia), as well as an MSc in Financial Economics and a PhD in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham (UK).

Anne Mette Bæk is the Executive Director of EFFOP, the international association representing European fishmeal and fish oil producers. She also serves as Executive Director of Marine Ingredients Denmark, the national association for the Danish fishmeal and fish oil industry. With a strong background in food and fisheries policy, Anne Mette has extensive experience in public management, international relations, and political communication, drawing on her earlier career in the Danish Foreign Service. 

Anne Mette has held several leadership and governance roles across the European fisheries sector. She is currently a board member of multiple European market and fishing organisations. From 2014 to 2021, she served on the IFFO Board of Directors, including terms as Vice President (2018–2019) and President (2020–2021). 

Aldo Bernasconi is the VP of Data Science for the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3s (GOED). His responsibilities include coordinating the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information relevant to omega-3 markets, the development of GOED’s Clinical Study Database, and scientific research on the role of omega-3 fatty acids in health. He holds a PhD in mathematics from the University of Utah. 

Arnt-Ove Blytt-Tøsdal Kolås is COO Feed at Pelagia AS, one of Europe's leading producers of marine ingredients for aquaculture and animal nutrition. He is responsible for Pelagia's feed division, overseeing operations, innovation, and strategic business development across the company's fishmeal and fish oil activities. Prior to his current role, he held several senior leadership positions within Pelagia, including Chief Technology Officer and Technical Director Food. Arnt-Ove holds an M.Sc. in Industrial Economics with specialization in Operations Research from NTNU and completed part of his studies at Universität Karlsruhe (TH), Germany.

Francisco Chavez is a biological oceanographer who studies how climate variability and change affect ocean ecosystems, from local to basin scales. Born and raised in Peru, he holds a PhD from Duke University and is a founding member of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI), where he has pioneered long-term ecosystem observations and the development of new technologies and systems for sustainable ocean monitoring. More recently, his research has expanded to include environmental DNA (eDNA) as a tool for observing marine biodiversity.

Chavez has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed publications, including 15 in Nature and Science. He serves on several scientific and advisory bodies focused on ocean observing, marine ecosystems and ocean health.

He is a Fellow of both the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the American Geophysical Union (AGU), recognising his contributions to understanding climate variability, ocean ecosystems, global carbon cycling, productivity and fisheries. His honours also include the Ed Ricketts Memorial Award and a Doctor Honoris Causa from Universidad Pedro Ruiz Gallo in Peru in recognition of his distinguished scientific career.

Dr Richard Cottrell is a research scientist with over a decade of experience leading interdisciplinary research and strategic projects in aquaculture and fisheries. His research focuses on applying quantitative methods to address sustainability challenges in marine food production, with particular interests in the future of aquafeeds. He has worked across government and academia and has published extensively on seafood sustainability and marine resource management. 

Thomas Damsgaard is Head of Americas for BIMCO, where his responsibilities encompass member interests and industry engagement. 

Thomas started his shipping career in 1990 and has earned his stripes in a succession of increasingly challenging roles within senior management and leadership for maritime market leaders. He has led several maritime start-ups and turnarounds and acts as an external advisor on leadership, strategy and optimization to global maritime, logistics and PE organizations. He serves on professional boards within shipping and logistics. 

Thomas holds an MBA in Shipping & Logistics (Blue MBA) from Copenhagen Business School. 

Teddy Escarabay has worked at Sustainable Fisheries Partnership since 2018. He began his role supporting the implementation of fishery improvement projects, including the Ecuador small pelagics FIP and the mahi-mahi FIP. 

Over the years, he has coordinated regional projects and initiatives aimed at improving the governance of shared fisheries, particularly mahi-mahi, squid, and shark fisheries. He currently serves as SFP’s Latin American Fisheries Director and has supported the implementation of fishery improvement efforts in Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Panama, and Guatemala. Prior to joining SFP, Teddy coordinated Ecuador’s National Action Plans for sharks and mahi-mahi at the Ministry of Aquaculture and Fisheries and served as a CITES Management Authority. He also carried out projects and consultancies related to the sustainable use of biodiversity. Teddy studied biology and has extensive experience in large pelagic fisheries and in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). He holds an MSc in Environment and Development from the University of Edinburgh. 

Iván Geller is Commercial Manager at Austral Group, a leading Peruvian fishing and seafood company and part of Austevoll Seafood ASA, one of the world's largest seafood groups. He leads the company's global sales and export strategy across fishmeal, fish oil, frozen, and fresh seafood products. With more than 15 years of experience in the fishing industry, he specializes in international business, commercial strategy, and market development. Since 2025, he has also led Austral's Research & Development initiatives, driving innovation projects focused on sustainability and operational excellence. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Lima and an MBA from PAD – School of Management, University of Piura. 

Dr Brett Glencross is the Technical Director of IFFO (The Marine Ingredients Organisation). Prior to this he was the Professor of Nutrition at the Institute of Aquaculture at the University of Stirling in Scotland. Over the past 30 years he has worked across various domains with experience in academia, government, foreign-aid and industrial roles in the Asia-Pacific, LATAM, Middle East, and Europe. He is the former Chair of the Scientific Committee of the International Society for Fish Nutrition and Feeding (ISFNF) as well as previously being a director of the Asia-Pacific Chapter of the World Aquaculture Society. He has Honours and Masters Degrees in Biochemistry from the University of Western Australia and a PhD in Animal Nutrition from the University of Queensland.

Eduardo is one of the founders of IFFO when former IFOMA an FEO were merged, being copresident during its first year. He has then been a Board member almost all the time, including Vicepresidency in 2016-2017 and then President for the 2018-2019 period. Eduardo was the Sales & Marketing Director for the Chilean fishing companies El Golfo, and then Blumar, for more than 20 years until 2015. He has also been a Board member of several other local and international organizations around the world, including being the Executive Director of New World Currents, a five chilean salmon producing companies joint venture to sell in China, and Director and vice President of Exapesca, a Chilean fishoil producers joint venture that sold their products together. He also represented GSI, the Global Salmon Initiative, in the ASC Steering Committee that developed the new ASC Feed Standard. Currently he is vice president of IFFO and also seats in the Governing Body of MarinTrust.

Véronique joined IFFO in January 2019, bringing over 11 years of experience as Communications Director at the French division of a global water company. Prior to that, she served as a political advisor to local authorities. At IFFO, she leads the Secretariat of the Global Roundtable on Marine Ingredients and oversees stakeholder engagement. Véronique is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris and holds a bilingual French-German Master’s degree in Political Science.

Petter M. Johannessen has been heading IFFO The Marine Ingredients Organisation since 2018. He is passionate about seeing the contribution of marine ingredients to global food production recognised, while supporting continuous improvement and responsible practices. IFFO actively engages in and initiates collaborative efforts, considering them a cornerstone of its operations. Johannessen is notably recognised as a founding member of the Global Roundtable on Marine Ingredients, alongside the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership. Prior to his current role, Johannessen held industry executive positions including Global Business Director for Risk Management and Sourcing at Cargil Aqua Nutrition, as well as serving as Supply Chain Director and Global Sourcing and Purchasing Lead at EWOS Group.

Duncan Leadbitter is a director of Australia based fisheries and natural resource consulting company, Fish Matter. The role of Fish Matter is to provide practical advice to international organisations, industry, government and NGOs regarding the sustainable use of fish. Most of Duncan’s work is in based in Asia where he has been involved in fisheries projects in Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines and India.

Duncan has been involved in the sustainable seafood movement for over twenty years having worked with the fishing industry in Australia prior to occupying senior positions in the Marine Stewardship Council. He also worked with market-based NGO Sustainable Fisheries Partnership and the Aquaculture Stewardship Council. He is a member of the Global Seafood Alliance’s Standards Oversight Committee.  He has written several published works on fisheries, coastal zone and habitat matters and writes/films for a local magazine, Illawarra. He is a Visiting Fellow at the Australian Centre for Ocean Resources and Security at the University of Wollongong. He holds a Science Honours degree from the University of Sydney and a master’s degree in environmental planning from Macquarie University, Sydney and has recently completed a Certificate 4 in Screen and Media. Duncan is a keen scuba diver, snorkeler, spearfisherman, and photographer.

Marcela is a senior analyst of Food & Agribusiness Research. Since Feb-2021 at Rabobank Brazil, she is responsible for the analysis report of the market of grains soybeans, corn and cotton.  With over ten years of experience, she served as a market intelligence analyst at CHS Agronegócio and as a grain research coordinator at Gavilon do Brasil, being responsible for consolidating analyzes and reports on profitability, marketing and planting-harvesting the sector. 

Graduated in Economic Sciences from the School of Agriculture “Luiz de Queiroz” (ESALQ / USP), Marcela was also a research analyst and market intelligence for Cofco Internacional. 

Christian Meinich joined Chr. Holtermann AS, Oslo, Norway in 1987 and is today the Senior Partner of the company. Holtermann is an independent commodity brokerage house est.1916, mainly brokering raw materials for the food- feed- and technical industries. Christian is also past president of FOSFA International, London, a contract issuing and arbitral body covering 85% of the global trade in oils and fats. Christian holds a BSBA degree in Finance from University of Denver and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Brad Rude leads global risk management, sourcing, feed formulation, and bulk supply chains for Cargill Animal Nutrition & Health. In this role, he oversees ingredient procurement and formulation execution strategies to produce feed for more than a dozen species across more than 40 countries. By leveraging global insights applied to local markets, Brad works to ensure Cargill’s customers are supplied with cost-competitive, nutritious, and sustainable feed ingredients amid volatile, ever-changing markets. Brad also helps set the strategy and future direction of the global Animal Nutrition & Health business.

Brad has been with Cargill for nearly 20 years, beginning as a process engineer intern and progressing through production roles before gaining experience as a commodities trader in the United States and Mexico. Brad then spent time in Norway as Merchandising Manager before becoming Global Commodity Trading Leader for Animal Nutrition & Health. With extensive experience in aquaculture and global markets, Brad went on to lead Global Risk Management & Sourcing for Cargill Aqua Nutrition. Most recently, Brad led Risk Management & Sourcing for Cargill Animal Nutrition across North and South America. 

Brad holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Business Administration in International Business Strategy from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).

Brad lives in Wayzata, Minnesota with his wife. He enjoys traveling, reading, golfing, and spending time outdoors with his dog, Jack.   

Stefania Vannuccini is Senior Fishery Officer responsible for fisheries and aquaculture statistics (FishStat) and information at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). She also serves as Secretary of the Coordinating Working Party on Fishery Statistics (CWP), the leading international inter-agency forum for the development and harmonization of standards, classifications and methodologies for fisheries and aquaculture statistics.

An economist specializing in statistics, she has more than three decades of experience in analysing current and emerging trends in fisheries and aquaculture and their contribution to food security and sustainable development. She has authored and co-authored numerous publications, articles and presentations, and is one of the principal authors and coordinators of the biennial The State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture (SOFIA).

She is also responsible for fisheries projections and for coordinating the fisheries chapter of the annual OECD–FAO Agricultural Outlook, in addition to contributing to other outlook and forecasting studies on the fisheries and aquaculture sector.

Libby Woodhatch is Executive Chair of MarinTrust, the global standard for marine ingredients, and has more than 25 years of experience in the seafood supply chain and standards development. She previously served as Head of Advocacy at Seafish, where she led the development of the Responsible Fishing Scheme and Seafish’s wider work on seafood ethics, and as Chief Executive of Seafood Scotland for nine years, helping to strengthen value returns to the Scottish seafood industry. Her wider leadership experience includes service on the Marine Stewardship Council’s Stakeholder Council, a nine-year term as Vice Chair of the Fishermen’s Mission, and her current roles as Vice Chair of Certified Seafood International and board member of the Global Seafood Alliance. Libby is also currently Director of Government Relations for the Global Dialogue on Seafood Traceability (GDST). She holds a BSc (Hons) in Fisheries Science from the University of Plymouth and an MSc in Fisheries Development & Planning from the University of Hull. 

Jamie Wright has dedicated most of his nearly 30-year journalism career to covering the global seafood industry. A UMaine graduate, Jamie started as a newspaper reporter in Vermont but quickly developed an interest in fishing and aquaculture, particularly in how those sectors were raising performance standards and procurement practices worldwide. After 10 years at Diversified (SeaFood Business magazine and SeafoodSource.com), he spent another decade-plus with the Global Seafood Alliance’s Outreach team. He launched his own business, Wright Editorial, in February 2026, but remains Editor-in-Chief of GSA’s Responsible Seafood Advocate online magazine. Jamie has presented and moderated panel discussions at many events, including the Responsible Seafood Summit/GOAL, Seafood Expo North America, Fish 2.0, SeaWeb Seafood Summit and the Maine Fishermen’s Forum. He also moderated a 2018 state gubernatorial debate at the famous Strand Theater in Rockland, Maine.  

Maggie Xu joined IFFO in October 2011 as the China Manager and was promoted in October 2013 to China Director. She was previously a Trade Commissioner responsible for fish, seafood, meat and processed food and beverage products at the Embassy of Canada to the P. R. China for ten years. Maggie has a B.A. degree in English language and completed a summer school jointly given by London School of Economics and Peking University on international finance.
